Caro Flynn

Caro is a potter who, as an artist, likes to paint and draw on hand thrown pots using colours and themes that echo the sea, local wildlife and wonderful west coast light.  Born and educated in South Africa, through the 1970's and early 80's Caro lived and worked in Durban and Johannesburg teaching, potting and exhibiting. She came to London in 1985 where she studied painting and etching at the Camden Institute for two years and then spent a year etching at Winchester college of Art. In 1988 returning to work with clay, she joined the Southern Potters Group and started working in her studio in the Test Valley, teaching pottery and running young NADFAS courses in and around Winchester.

She works in high fired earthenware using coloured slips with hints of pure metals...gold and platinum.

Work can be seen at 'Bryn y Mor' by arrangement...please phone first.

Also at Workshop Wales Gallery at Manorowen near Fishguard.
