Bob Royston

Bob Royston studied art at Winchester School of Art, the University of Northumberland and Chelsea School of Art where he successfully completed an MA in Fine Art Painting.
He has exhibited in Great Britain, Europe and the USA.  His work is landscape based and often incorporates both abstraction and figuration.

His work reflects his deep love of the natural environment and his relationship to it in both two and three dimensions.  Texture and surface are vital ingredients of his artistic vocabulary and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path lends itself beautifully to his oeuvre as do the rugged mountains of North Wales and those of the French Pyrenees where he has a studio.

He has successfully completed two residencies in Pembrokeshire, the first at Anna's Welsh Zoo in 2012 Tenby - a zoo which aids the repatriation of endangered species back into the wild - and then at Oriel y Parc, St. Davids in 2014.

The three animal studies on show at TheWaterfront Gallery were completed whilst Bob was working at the zoo and 'Lemur Lifeline' was exhibited at the RWA Summer Show in 2014.
