Since studying at Chelsea School of Art where she gained a first class BA Hons. degree and an MA in Fine Art Painting, she has exhibited widely throughout Europe and Britain, both in solo and group exhibitions - notably the John Moore's Liverpool and the RA Summer Shows.

She says, "Certain ideas act as a starting off points, but I do not intend to paint in a literal way, nor do I feel it is necessary to back up my paintings with words - they do not tell stories and I do not use symbols. Colour, form and texture are my vocabulary just as notes are in music without lyrics" Gwen has a real love of the Welsh countryside and incorporated her emotional response to the Pembrokeshire landscape and the coastal region into her abstract paintings whilst at Oriel y Parc.
