Sandra Phillips was born and brought up in Pendine, Carmarthenshire where she lives and works from a studio in her home.

She was educated at Whitland Grammar School and studied in Liverpool and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

She has had a lifelong interest in art but it is only since taking early retirement from teaching that she has been able to pursue and develop this interest. She is predominantly drawn to landscapes and seascapes though her work includes a wider selection of subjects which she expresses in all painting media. She is particularly interested in mood and atmosphere created by light on the landscape, especially rugged mountain areas and the changing nature if the sea and coastline.

She has had many solo and joint exhibitions to date and is also the winner of many local, national and international awards and her work can be found in private collections worldwide.
