Paul resides in West Wales and has been woodturning since 1998. The design of each turned piece is influenced by and varies in relationship to the size and the character of the wood in hand. Each plank of wood used can be very different from one end to the other, especially spalted woods. This helps to make each piece a unique item.

Paul uses a mixture of UK and foreign woods, all from certified sustainable sources anda variety of finishes for the wood, dependant on the intended use. Each piece is individually pyrographed on its base with the details of the wood type. Some pieces when completed have distinct wood grain patterns. When it seems to enhance the overall effect, these may be pyrographed on the face with a phrase or line from a poem.

Paul says "I hope that people buying and receiving my work get as much enjoyment from it as I had making it. My aim is to carry on enjoying and learning as much as I can about turning and the nature of different woods."
