Maggie Brown – ‘The Sound, Seaweed’

£950.00

Mixed Media and Bitumen    2023       SOLD

One of a series of three works based on coastal feel using collage, bitumen, and acrylic paint. My connection with nature is vital. Outdoors, I write, paint, and draw in sketchbooks, using all my senses to imprint into my memory ‘the feeling of a unique wild place’, the seasons, weather, and earthiness. This enables me to develop acrylic paintings, using sand, glue, shavings, and collage to create texture and in turn, a looseness to express the light and elements of our beautiful countryside.

I am forever hopeful that my paintings can evoke a sense of being in the moment, allowing the viewer to share in my observation of nature and perhaps even help in its’ conservation.
