Molly Cawthorn – ‘Vaporscape 06’

In her “Vaporscapes” series, Molly investigates diaspora and the feelings it inspires and causes within nature and landscape; both negative and positive.

She explores how representational shapes and abstract space balances within minimal seasonal colour palettes.

Molly has a BA, MA Aberystwyth.
She is a mixed media landscape artist exploring nature, belonging and colour, in abstract memory paintings.
In her work, she explores the theme of language and mark-making in depth. She picks out patterns in nature (like tree bark or rivers) from specific places she has visited and studied to play with the distinction of written communication: where ‘language’ and ‘image’ could be discerned.
The “Vaporscapes” series is split into seasonal groups reflecting via plein-air colour studies to explore seasonality and change.
