1st PRIZE – 3D Section
This distorted cuboid is part of a project “workshop archaeologies 2022” in which I took clay to various workshop facilities collecting traces and actions of equipment and materials before being dismantled for modernisation.
Barbara Beyer is a visual artist living and working in Camden. She is a Sculptor, printmaker, and passionate Drawer. Barbara is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and Studio Member at Rochester Square Ceramics in Camden.
She is strongly drawn to minimal and archaic forms, natural and manmade and the evoking sensation of the sculptural object. Her finished work visibly contains traces of process and making, mistakes and remedies, imagination, and play, which bring to mind our fundamental ability to shape and make, act, and react, see, and imagine and to visually engage with the world around us.
